The one mistake i do again and again when separating the branding of an Eclipse RCP app into its own branding plugin is that i forget to include the branding plugin itself in the product definition. Its not really that hard to find the problem if you read the exception correctly, but this little mistake is just too easy to make and nevertheless hard to figure out, because the missing branding plugin in the product definition is never the problem that you expect. Hopefully, the Eclipse guys will add a check at some point whether the plugin that contains the .product file is itself included as a plugin dependency :-)
